God’s Hand in Every Moment: Reflections on the 2025 TICCN Conference

We’re delighted to report the tremendous success of the 2025 The International Christian Church Network (TICCN) Conference. The week of worship, witness and commissioning bore witness to God’s presence in many remarkable ways.

On the eve of the conference, during the Bishop’s Conclave, there came a surprise telephone call from Dr Peter Gammons, who shared that “God had directed me to call.” At that very moment, Archbishop Steven Lyn Evans observed with wonder as Christopher Hughes (Bishop-elect) looked on in amazement. Christopher then explained that 18 years ago Dr Gammons had prayed specifically for his calling into Christian ministry, and now, on the week of his own consecration, he had been able to speak to that very man who had inspired his early steps. It was clearly a moment of divine orchestration, symbolising how God works across years and journeys.

During the conference week a story surfaced that captured national and international attention regarding TICCN Bishop Michael Fleming (Pastor Mick). Bishop Michael was approached by a police officer who warned him that the lettering on his mobile-home quoting John 3:16 (“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son”) might be considered hate speech. The story was widely reported—see, for example, the articles in Premier Christian News and Christian Today. Bishop Michael, undeterred, gave several live interviews during the conference, and the conference noted that because of this media attention the message of John 3:16 had travelled around the world.

Mid-week, the USA-based Archbishop Doyle Volentine ministered with encouraging words and specific prophecy, reinforcing a season of expectation and renewed vision for TICCN’s global mission.

On Friday morning at 11:00 am the Service of Remembrance in Orrell was led by Archbishop Steven. It was heartening to see such strong community support and to sense the power of remembrance and hope woven together. Later that evening the ordination of the Reverend Ruth Houghton and the Reverend Ian Aspinall took place. Archbishop Steven spoke movingly of their qualifications for ministry, developed through years of faithful service in church and community. The celebration that followed was dynamic: participants testified to healing and profound impact, and the presence of God was unmistakable. Joy and expectation filled the air, as those gathered sensed that God is actively moving among them.

On Sunday, the Consecration of Bishop Christopher Hughes in Oxford was a glorious occasion. Archbishop Steven commissioned Bishop Christopher to serve as the TICCN Representative to the United Nations and to the Holy See (Vatican). Bishop Michael Fleming joined as co-consecrator, together with Bishop Steven Bellant who represented Archbishop Doyle Volentine and the other USA TICCN Bishops. Bishop Michael delivered a powerful sermon on the theme of Christ who is “knocking on the door.” The atmosphere was one of celebration, commitment and hope, for the Church, for ministry, and for the world.

We give heartfelt thanks to God for His faithfulness in these days of service. We also express deep gratitude to every delegate, volunteer, minister and supporter who made this conference possible. As TICCN steps forward into its next season, we do so with renewed vision, grounded in the truth of the Gospel and enlivened by the power of God.
